Dr Jamie Goggins

Jamie is the Principle Investigator on the nZEB-RETROFIT project. He has over 14 years of experience in consultancy, construction, expert advisory work and research on many projects worldwide. Jamie is a chartered engineer and has worked as a consultant on many projects worldwide. 

Prof. Dr Henrike Rau

Henrike is a  Professor in ennvironmental sociology, human-enviornment relations, sustainability and social research at Department of Geography, Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich. Her research focuses on socio-cultural and political aspects of consumption, especially with regard to (un)sustainable mobility patterns. 

Dr Marcus Keane

Marcus is Director of the Informatics Research Unit for Sustainable Engineering (www.iruse.ie) at NUI Galway. His expertise is in the systematic development and deployment of whole building and reduced order energy simulation models to underpin optimised operation of energy systems in buildings utilising a range of software/hardware applications/systems.

Dr Magdalena Hajdukiewicz

Magdalena is a senior postdoctoral researcher and an adjunct lecturer in the College of Engineering and Informatics at NUI Galway. She has expertise in computation fluid dynamic modelling and real-time monitoring of buildings for thermal comfort and energy performance.

Dr. Richard Manton

Richard Manton is an Adjunct Lecturer at the National University of Ireland, Galway. He received a BE (2010) and PhD (2016) in Civil Engineering from NUI Galway.  He has researched and published across a broad, interdisciplinary field, including: civil engineering, transport, environment, geography and political science. 

Turya Ganguly

Turya is is a construction industry professional having more than 4 years of experience in building design, BIM, energy management, execution, planning, cost estimation, as well as knowledge of contracts. He is currently a doctoral researcher in the College of Engineering & Informatics at NUI Galway. 

Paul Moran

Paul has a BE in Energy Systems Engineering and is a doctoral researcher in the College of Engineering & Informatics at NUI Galway. His research area is on developing retrofitting solutions for dwellings.

Prof. Dr. Corey Griffin

Corey Griffin is an Associate Professor in the School of Architecture at Portland State University, teaching design, structures and building science courses. His research focuses on the intersections of structural systems and green buildings with an emphasis on integrated design, multi-performance structures and building longevity.

Sheikh Zuhaib

Zuhaib is an architect with more than 4 years industrial experience. He is currently a doctoral researcher at NUI Galway. His research area is the evaluation of the influence of advanced retrofit technologies on indoor environments, including health, safety and comfort of building occupants.

Abdeen Ahmed

Abdeen’s education was received in Egypt and Japan. He is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in NUI Galway. He is passionate about architecture as it relates to building science & technology,  sustainable design systems, and energy efficiency. His speciality involves particular area of envelope design optimization, energy performance simulation, and renewable energy utilization.

Maria Lopez Zambrano

Maria is a postdoctoral researcher at NUI Galway in the Civil Engineering Department. As a Building Engineer, she has previous industrial experience as Site Construction Manager in restoration and rehabilitation of Heritage in Spain. Her research background is focused on retrofitting strategies in Heritage Buildings, Energy Modelling, BIM and passive refurbishment of the envelope.
