Last month Royal Irish Academy announced that Dr. Jamie Goggins was nominated to attend the World Science Forum representing RIA. World Science Forum engages international dialogues and participation on the social and economic relevance, influence and responsibilities of science.

 

During the workshop at WSF, the team of which Dr. Jamie Goggins was a part of, made a pitch on the necessity and mechanism for the development of guiding principles for artificial intelligence (AI) that are informed by the Sustainability Development Goals to ensure that AI is used to benefit all living beings rather than for weaponisation.
